Meet the Artists
Mark Zepezauer studied printmaking at the University of California at Santa Cruz and in 1989 produced a handmade art book featuring satirical prints of Richard Nixon. His linocuts appeared in local papers along with his cartooning. When he moved to Tucson in 1993, he sold his printing press but kept up with printing while working as an art teacher. After retiring in 2023, Mark purchased a small diecut press, which he has used to create a series of portraits of birds, rhinos, tortoises, bugs, and so on.
Nan Lagemann has a degree in fine arts/cinematography but pursued a career in social work. Much like editing film, Nan enjoys the construction of mini assemblages. Using upcycled jewelry parts, beads, and more, she creates intricate, funky and fun small mosaic-like sculptures.
